Eames Style High Back Soft Pad Office Chair
Yesterday, we featured the Charles Eames style office chair with a mesh low back. The husband and wife Eames team designed a number of chairs for the office. One of a range of designs known today as the ‘soft pad’ chair. Today, we feature the luxurious High Back Soft Pad Office Chair in White Leather.
This reproduction has all the benefits of its other family members. Same elegant aluminium structure and easy manoeuvrability, with side arms.
- Tilting mechanism with adjustable tension
- Adjustable seat height
- Full grain Italian White leather
- High back for full support
- 360 degree swivel
This is another 20-th century ‘modernist’ piece that will find its place in both a retro styled office or lounge, or a more modern interior. Picture this: a complement to a round glass table perhaps, in company maybe with a couple of the Eames style low back mesh chairs. You can read further here…

Charles (and Ray ) Eames were prolific 20th-century American furniture designers with many enduring credits to their names. Their style designs have been reproduced by many furniture manufacturers. The appeal of these wonderful designs has not wavered over the decades, and looks like it never will. An excellent example of a chair inspired by the Eames’ ‘fairy dust’ is the Low Back Mesh Office chair featured here.
In the sixties, many offices were graced with the elegance of the Eames style, and so it is today with accent on retro blending well with modern interiors. Good quality is affordable. Aluminium five star legs, on casters for ease of manoeuvrability ,support an adjustable/tilt seat. To read more …

Now, we have posted this designer’s work before,in the shape of the classic Barcelona Chair. Mies Van der Rohe designed other iconic pieces of furniture in collaboration with German designer,Lilly Reich. In 1929-30, they came up with the Brno Chair named after the place it was destined for, in what is now the Czech Republic. Clean, clear lines make this an elegant modernist cantilever chair originally for the bedroom, with comfort designed in. More about the Van der Rohe Brno Chair here – the example here is a classic-reproduction and has a seat in black leather.

This table has a clear sculptural look, which is a fitting impression as it is made in the style of a design by the renowned American/Japanese sculptor, Isamu Noguchi. He had developed his own particular style of sculpture in the 1920s. In the 1930s, he drew acclaim for several important public-works sculptures produced for the Associated Press building in New York. By this time he had also turned his skills to designing ceramics, lighting ,and furniture, and in 1947, Noguchi’s IN-50 glass table was first manufactured.
The table illustrated above reproduces the style of the Noguchi IN-50. As a lifestyle choice, the combination of good quality and design does not have to be overly expensive. To see more you can continue to read at the website of Vita-interiors.com
