You can own a copy of one of the very few comprehensive and authoritative texts ever published on the artistic products produced by Venini since the early 1920s. This book provides the reader with the following amazing amount of historical and technical information:

* Dictionary of artists

*the contents of three catalogues (never for sale and therefore extremely rare) providing detail of all the Venini reproductions items as sold through retail outlets

* with an enlarged  section on lamps and chandeliers

*notes on the techniques and materials used.

Venini Bolle Vases by Tapio Wirkkala

Venini Bolle Vase

Venini Bolle Vase (clipped to polyvore.com)

Some of the more established Murano glass blowing companies are VENINI, Salviati and Barovier and Toso.  Their Maestros such as Lina Tagliapietra, Afro Celotto, Luca Vidal, Oscar Zanetti and Arnaldo Zanella produce limited edition and one-off pieces that can never be reproduced due to the exceptional difficulty of creating just one piece.  The range of skill and technical expertise of not only the centuries old glass blower, but also the Modern Murano master glass blower is a set of techniques that deserve and command the very highest of accolades. The stunning Bolle vases were designed by Finnish designer Tapio Kirkkala for one of the most established of Murano art glass blowing companies: Venini. In 1968, he used two different types of glass ,fusing them to produce a beautiful set of vases. The technique is known as incalmo and was perfected by the Venini master glass blowers.The five pieces can be purchased as a set or as individual pieces. They are not cheap. You can  read more about these most collectable pieces of Murano glass at the website of the Venini company established in 1921.

This WinWare Americano style dessert glass is not perhaps so much 20s American Soda fountain as 50s American Diner, this iconic style glassware sits well in the contemporary kitchen/diner. It evokes an earlier mid-century era – and it does not cost a lot to  share in this experience.

Although a thing style, it may look even better filled to the brim as a mouthwatering sundae ,with a scoop of ice cream,  split banana,sweet topping, and a cherry on top – well one can bring this dream to a reality.
