Heal’s are launching a range of superb wallpapers, many are retro in style. This Orla Kiely design once reproduced on a London Transport bus is stunning in its simplicity and vibrancy of colour, with definite echos of the second-half of the 20th-century.

Orla Kiely is an Irish designer who was awarded  the accolade of being represented on a series of her country’s postage stamps, featuring top Irish designers. She is prominent for her design of other things, including hats, and more lately handbags. Anecdotally, her father apparently pointed out to her at a London Fashion Week that there was a dearth of people wearing hats, but handbags were much in evidence.
